There are heroes… there are superheroes… and then there’s Hancock. With great power comes great responsibility — everyone knows that — everyone, that is, but Hancock. Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock’s well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough — as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn’t the kind of man who cares what other people think — until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey, and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock’s greatest challenge yet — and a task that may prove impossible as Ray’s wife, Mary, insists that he’s a lost cause.

Real World in Brooklyn

This is a little off topic, but some of you may find it interesting that MTV’s The Real World returns to New York for a third time…but for the first time it’s headed to an outer-borough. That’s right, the seven generic, good-looking roommates will be heading to Brooklyn.   Just when you thought Brooklyn wasn’t enough attention, right?  Pardon my territorial comment, Brooklyn is where I was Born, Raised and Reside.  (You have to be here to understand) Besides that I’m pretty excited.

Shooting begins this summer, and will result in 12 hour-long episodes. In the press release we received, Jon Murray, co-creator of the show, says “The Brooklyn season, like the Hollywood season, will focus on what people loved about ‘The Real World’ when it launched in 1992 - genuine people, meaningful conflict and powerful stories.” Really Jon? We’re sort of betting it’ll be more about the cast taking over bars, fighting with locals, getting drunk and sleeping with roommates — all as they take their amazingly overpriced living quarters for granted.

The big question now is: Which part of Brooklyn will have the distinct pleasure of welcoming the new residents? Our guess is they’ll be taking over a few luxury condo units in Williamsburg. Perhaps this will unite the hipsters and anti-hipsters of the ‘nabe? Either way, get ready to see the production taking over McCarren Pool Parties this summer.

Aero Space

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve decided to push my exercisingto the limit and share it with you all whether I make it out alive or not.  A friend of mine kept trying to convince me to check out his workout center in the meatpacking district called AEROSPACE.  I went once just to have a look at it and see what the hype was all about.  At first I was a little skeptical because their weren’t any Weights, Treadmills, or Universal Machines anywhere.  Usually when you think of a place to workout you think of a place full of these special machines that give you a total body workout in 45 minutes or less.  There was nothing of the sort there, just a big boxing ring, huge workout area and a glass room full of punching bags.

Still not really convinced, he asked me to attend an event last week where he competed in a skilled Combo Concentration Mit Punching Event.  Man, was it intense, competing were women fresh out of the hospital from conceiving a baby (The women won both challenges by the way), Big Guys, Small Guys, Young Guys… You get the picture.   So I said; you know what? I want to try that.  So I’ve decided to go in tomorrow and give it a shot, wish me luck.  I will let you know how it goes on Friday if I’m still in one piece.

About AEROSPACE

AEROSPACE High Performance Center leaves the machines behind to focus on the power you have inside.

Created by former champion boxer and international fitness expert Michael Olajide, Jr. and former ballet dancer and spa innovator Leila Fazel, AEROSPACE combines the best workout techniques from professional sports with a luxury spa to offer a total fitness solution for the mind, body and spirit.

I got a second last week to check out this article in Details and found it pretty interesting.  Hey, these are things you night want to know if you don’t already.  Enjoy!

Your coworkers aren’t getting laid at bars anymore—they’re getting laid at work.

Tim was 28 and had been married for two years when he started working as a commercial producer at a company in Santa Monica, California. He immediately took a liking to the receptionist, a tanned, friendly 25-year-old.

“She couldn’t have been nicer or have represented the company in a more positive way,” he recalls. “Also, there was her body.”

When she was promoted to assistant producer, they had such a good time working closely together—he would give her advice about how to get ahead as a producer, she would IM him about music, and they would have a few beers after work together to unwind—that Tim began to look forward to arriving at the office the way some guys anticipate leaving it.
